I have booked Rachel Kolsky – considered to be UK’s finest guide very theatrical entertaining and knowledgeable for a 2-hour morning walking tour of the delights of Cambridge – the plan is to meet at 10.45 am centrally in Cambridge ready to start walk.

Cambridge is an historic University town with the picturesque River Cam flowing through the centre of the town. Since the University was founded in 1209 it has lots of places of interest both old and new. Our walking tour will take us to the old market square, to the outside of the beautiful college building like Clare, Trinity and King’s. To some of the more unusual sites like the chrono phage, the mathematical bridge, the gate of honour and much, much more.....

The Morning walk concludes at 1pm at the Arc Café [happy for people to eat own sandwiches or bring own picnic] till 2.20 when we all walk together to the Library for the second part of the day that concludes at 4.30pm

The afternoon to be spent in the Cambridge University library from 2.30pm when a private visit and viewing of THE GENIZAH COLLECTION [another 2 hours] The Tayor-Schechter Genizah Collection is a priceless accumulation of centuries-old Hebrew manuscript material and Judaica. It was recovered for the Cairo Genizah in 1896 – 97. It has been stored in the University of Cambridge Library for over a century. The researcher will talk alongside a power point collection for 30/45 minutes about the history of the Collection, how it was discovered, its importance and its historical importance. Following any questions, we then actually look at the manuscripts making up the collection with the Researcher who is available to answer any further questions relating.

The day will cost £45 pp excluding any travel costs and payment is required ASAP in full and will be refunded if the trip is cancelled
